Dar`s Invitation to Swiss Investment in Renewable Energy Sectors

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar extended a warm invitation to Swiss companies to invest in Pakistan, Renewable focusing particularly on the renewable energy and IT sectors. This invitation came during a courtesy meeting with Ambassador of Switzerland Georg Steiner at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, Dar emphasized Pakistan’s strong interest in bolstering ties with Switzerland, highlighting the potential for expanded cooperation in various areas such as trade, investment, climate initiatives, tourism, and migration. Dar praised the existing presence of Swiss companies in Pakistan and urged more Swiss businesses to explore investment opportunities, especially in the burgeoning renewable energy and IT sectors. The Foreign Minister also referenced the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Disaster Management signed between Pakistan and Switzerland last year. He expressed optimism that this agreement would enhance collaboration, leveraging technology and expertise to effectively manage natural calamities in the future. Apart from bilateral economic relations, the discussion also touched upon regional dynamics and multilateral issues of mutual interest.

The meeting highlighted the ongoing positive engagement between Pakistan and Switzerland, with regular interactions and diplomatic exchanges. It noted Switzerland’s valuable contributions to humanitarian efforts and peace-building initiatives, showcasing the strong bonds between the two nations. The invitation to Swiss investment in critical sectors aligns with Pakistan’s broader strategy to attract foreign investment, promote sustainable development, and foster technological advancements in key industries.
