HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), hosted HE Eng. Yousif Al Ali, CEO of Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE), at DEWA’s headquarters in Dubai. This meeting, part of a series of collaborative visits among UAE government organizations, aimed to strengthen ties, exchange global best practices, and enhance cooperation.
The discussions focused on DEWA’s exemplary practices and experiences, where the utility has outperformed global counterparts in efficiency and reliability. Al Tayer commended the ongoing cooperation between DEWA and EtihadWE, aligning with UAE leadership directives to boost global competitiveness in clean energy, sustainability, and the green economy.
Emphasizing DEWA’s commitment to a clean energy future, Al Tayer outlined the roadmap to achieve 100% clean energy production by 2050. Initiatives such as the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the Hatta pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant, and DEWA’s green hydrogen pilot project contribute to this ambitious goal.
HE Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali expressed his appreciation for Al Tayer’s leadership and DEWA’s efforts in advancing sustainable energy and water sectors.
