The Punjab government is actively promoting solar energy as part of its renewable strategy, now focusing on local solar panel manufacturing.
Punjab’s Industry and Commerce Minister, Shafay Hussain, met with a delegation of Chinese solar companies to discuss establishing solar panel factories in the region. He emphasized the government’s commitment to local manufacturing and highlighted the eagerness of Chinese investors.
Hussain hinted at developing a long-term policy to encourage such investments, noting the favorable moment for Chinese involvement. The decreasing cost of solar panels has made solar energy more appealing for residential, commercial, and industrial users in Pakistan.
