The Hi-MO X10 unveiled

LONGi has released a back-contact solar module with 24.8% efficiency, featuring a power output of up to 670 W and a temperature coefficient of -0.26% per degree Celsius. The company unveiled its Hi-MO X10 Anti-Dust Solar panel at the Jinan International Solar Energy Utilization Conference. The same company LONGi previously introduced Hi-MO-7, Hi-MO-9. The series features HPBC 2.0 cell technology, a uniform half-cell (6×24) design, and dimensions of 2,382×1,134×30 mm. The panel offers a power output ranging from 640 W to 670 W, with an efficiency between 23.7% and 24.8%.

The Anti-Dust Solar Model Hi-MO X10 series utilizes Longi’s second-generation hybrid passivated back contact (HPBC 2.0) cell technology. The series includes seven models, all with the uniform half-cell (6×24) design. Under standard test conditions (STC), the open-circuit voltage (Voc) ranges from 53.70 V to 54.30 V, while under nominal operating cell temperature (NOCT) conditions, it ranges from 51.04 V to 51.61 V. Short-circuit current (Isc) varies between 15.13 A and 15.60 A, with the temperature coefficient set at -0.26% per degree Celsius. Longi has stated the module’s initial-year degradation rate is 1%, with an annual degradation rate capped at 0.35% over 30 years.

The Hi-MO X10 solar module offers several innovative features:

Minimal Degradation:

The module’s open-circuit voltage ranges from 53.70 V to 54.30 V under regular test conditions and 51.04 V to 51.61 V under nominal operating conditions. Short-circuit current varies between 15.13 A and 15.60 A, with a temperature coefficient of -0.26% per degree Celsius. Its degradation is limited to 1% in the first year, with an annual rate of up to 0.35% over 30 years.

Energy Efficiency:

Longi claims that its latest module improves per-watt energy output by 2% and, combined with HPBC 2.0, increases overall energy yield by up to 10% compared to competing TOPCon modules. For example, installing Hi-MO X10 (660 W) panels on a 10,000 m² rooftop could produce 189,000 kWh more power annually than a 630 W TOPCon system, resulting in an additional annual revenue of $15,700 and nearly $370,000 over 30 years.

Advantages Over Standard TOPCon Panels

The Hi-MO X10 has three significant advantages over conventional TOPCon panels:

Anti-Dust Solar Design:

The module’s Anti-Dust Solar design allows rainwater to wash away dust, reducing maintenance needs and preventing hotspots. This design results in a 2.04% average energy gain.

Shade Tolerance:

The panel’s shade tolerance reduces power loss by redirecting current around shaded areas, cutting shading losses by 70%.

Fire Safety:

The module incorporates a fire prevention mechanism that lowers thermal hotspots. Under shading, the panel’s temperature stays around 80°C, compared to over 130°C for conventional TOPCon panels, thereby reducing fire risks.

    LONGi’s Commitment to Solar Innovation

At the beginning of the year, Longi’s chairman, Zhong Baoshen, emphasized the rapid growth of the photovoltaic industry, noting that the first terawatt of solar capacity took 68 years to achieve, but the second terawatt was reached in just two years. The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects global solar PV capacity will surpass 4,000 gigawatts (GW) by 2030, but Baoshen believes it will exceed 5,000 GW. This rapid development highlights the role of solar PV as a key driver in the global energy transition, contributing to the redesigning of the energy landscape.

A Revolutionary Breakthrough in Solar Technology

The Anti-Dust Solar Hi-MO X10 module incorporates revolutionary HPBC 2.0 technology and TaiRay silicon wafers, maintaining key features while introducing new designs to address challenges in distributed solar markets. It resolves shading and hotspot issues with a soft breakdown design and utilizes HPBC 2.0 technology for superior efficiency and reliability. With a power output of up to 670W and a conversion efficiency of 24.8%, the Anti-Dust Solar Hi-MO X10 represents a significant breakthrough in solar modules. Its innovative design eliminates circuit lines and bus bars, increasing power output by up to 5W and greatly improving power generation efficiency.

The Anti-Dust Solar Hi-MO X10’s launch marks a major milestone for LONGi and strengthens their commitment to providing sustainable solar solutions.
